Sue Duncan (Manager, Condominium and Non-Profit Division)

            Sue Duncan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota.  Sue has lived in Thunder Bay for 33 years, and has been a prominent figure in the Property Management scene of this city for 30+ years.  Sue has performed a variety of duties within her role as a manager, including leasing, advertising, sales, finances and budgets, capital planning and coordination of maintenance, and project management.  Sue also holds a Director's position on the local chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) and is the Chair of the CCI Newsletter.  Prior to her career as a property manager, Sue held her licenses as both an insurance agent and mutual funds broker.

Mary-Anne Zimmer (Office Manager, Administrative Support)

            Mary-Anne Zimmer offers years of experience as an administrator and support staff and was formerly a business owner herself.  She has completed courses and certification in office administration and has been with the Synergy team for nearly two years, learning much along the way.  Mary-Anne’s expertise expands to leasing, funds handling and document control.


 

OUR STORY


Synergy Property Management Solutions was established in Thunder Bay in 2013, with its original office located at 215 Red River Rd. in downtown Port Arthur.   Synergy’s early service delivery was provision of management services to single family dwellings and small plexes.  In 2015, Synergy expanded its service scope to include larger buildings (apartment complexes, etc.).  In 2016, the Synergy office moved to 620 Norah Crescent, where it remains today.  In 2017, Synergy began offering management services to condominium corporations and non-profit housing corporations.

Kirstynn Taniwa (Management Admin Support)


Kirstynn, who usually goes by the nickname Kirdy, comes with a broad pool of talent and education including her years of undergraduate work in Lakehead University's Business Program.  Kirdy's organizational skills and keen eye for detail are applied in every aspect of Synergy's work.  Kirdy is also well-versed in use and application of various lesser-known software applications, such as Kantech (which is used at a number of our buildings for entry and security).  Kirdy will round out our management team and is in place as part of Synergy's succession training plan.

Carolyn Dryhorub (Finance Manager; Bookkeeping)


Carolyn Dryhorub joined the Synergy team in Spring 2019.  Carolyn brings with her a wealth of experience in Procurement, Human Resources, Bookkeeping and Financial Management.  Carolyn's main background is Bookkeeping, in which she has amassed over 26 years of varied experience and education.  Her skills, coupled with a keen business acumen are an excellent compliment to the

Synergy fold.

OUR TEAM

Teri MacNeil (Owner, President, Property Manager)

            Teri MacNeil is the original owner of Synergy.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University, and is also an accredited Property Manager (IHM).  Teri has six years of property management experience in Thunder Bay, as well as related work experience with large corporations and their holdings.  Teri is a member of the Newsletter Committee for the local chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute.

John Janssen (Owner, Sec./Treas.; Manager, Maintenance and Works)

            John Janssen has over 26 years in the Maintenance and Repairs field.  He has headed maintenance operations for large complexes with more than 200 units; he has shown his value in such areas as trouble-shooting costly building problems and consulting with and supervising contractors, displaying his vast knowledge of trades and industry know-how, as well as demonstrating efficiencies with smaller projects, such as implementing tenant recycling programs.   John holds certification as a Gas and Oil Burner Technician, certification in CFC/HCFC/HFC - Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada, and Building Environment Systems Operator (II).
